ProvenancePart of an extensive display of George III style silver at Paris 1900 exposition. Purchased after 1901 by Franklin Murphy, former NJ governor, founding trustee of the Newark Museum, Newark resident, and owner of the Murphy Varnish Works in Newark; thence to his daughter Mrs. William B.
